Why this Blog?

This "Blog" -- short for "Weblog" -- will repeat some items and features of the Dillard Class website -- www.dillardclass.org. So why a Blog? At least three reasons:

• It gives a simple way to communicate some of the things we have done by email by do it in a more permanent form. It's easy to delete or lose an email, but the information will still be on the Blog.
• The photo albums are easy to create and attractive. Since I am webmaster as well as teacher, I especially like the ease with which I can create them. And I think you'll like the result.
• But the main reason is, the Blog gives you a chance to talk back! Each post ends with an invitation for you to add your own comments. I hope you will use this often. Some have shared some insightful and encouraging things by email that I thought ought to be shared with everyone. But I didn't want to share it without permission, and, as you well know, I had little time to spend going through that process. The Blog is an open book. Your comments will be shared by every reader (and it's good to keep that in mind!).
